Locust Trace FFA Alum Named National Officer
Alumni Spotlight
Lafayette High School alum Caroline Groth will serve as Eastern Region vice president of the National FFA for the 2024-25 school year. Groth, who graduated in 2023, was active in the Locust Trace AgriScience Center chapter of FFA.
She also picked up another top honor at this fall’s National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, along with two other recent graduates of Fayette County Public Schools. Groth and Carrie Wagner, who also attended Lafayette and Locust Trace, and Maliek Washington of Carter G. Woodson Academy and Frederick Douglass High School’s Class of 2023 received the American FFA Degree. This is the top award for FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences. Fewer than 1 percent of FFA members earn this honor each year.
